Sunday School

 Grace UMC believes in life-long learning!  We have Sunday School groups for every age level and offer occasional short-term studies (6-10 weeks).  Please join us Sunday Mornings at 9:45am as we grow in grace together.

 

Coffee Hour

Every week between Sunday School and Worship, we gather for refreshments and sharing in our Fellowship Hall.  Betty Singletary coordinates this ministry at 10:30 weekly.

Dinners of Six

"Dinners of Six" are groups formed to bring together members of the church in order to get to know each other better. These groups meet for lunch or dinner in homes or restaurants once a month for four months. The groups then change, and new groups are organized. Contact: Betty Singletary for more information.

Bible Studies

Strong churches are committed to intentional faith development of all members.  Grace UMC employs the outstanding Disciple Bible Study series that includes the following:

• Disciple I - A 34-week overview of the entire Bible.
• Disciple II - An in-depth study of Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts.
• Disciple III - A 32-week study of the Prophets and the Writings of Paul.
• Disciple IV - The Writings of the Old Testament, John's gospel and epistles.
• Christian Believer - A study of the basic doctrines of Christianity.
• Jesus in the Gospels - 30 weeks exploring Matthews, Mark, Luke, and John.

Other "short-term" Bible Studies are offered on occasion by the pastor or key lay leaders of Grace Church or by well known Bible Teachers like Dr. Mickey Efird.

Gracelettes

The Gracelettes are a gathering of the younger women, married and single, of Grace UMC that meet regularly for fellowship and service.  The word Gracelettes means "doing good little deeds" and we aim to do just that around the church and community, by sending greeting cards, collecting food and supplies for various area ministries, supporting groups within our church and more. Inner Grace

Our young adults of Grace Church are very active, with regular gatherings for dinners together, family picnics, and community service at Mother Hubbards Cupboard and other vital ministries.  The young adults also field strong teams for volleyball at Captain Bill's.  To become part of this great bunch of folks, contact Christina Norvell - 343-9302.

Grace Singles

 The Grace Singles Ministry is composed of single men and women who come together in a Christian environment that is supportive, enriching, affirming and accepting to all regardless of their circumstance or situation. Methodist Women (UMW Circles)

The United Methodist Women have always been the backbone of every Methodist Church, and Grace UMC is no exception!  Our UMW is comprised of a Day Circle that meets the first Tuesday of every month at 10:15 at the church, and the Evening "Agape" Circle, composed primarily of women who work during daytime.  The Agape Circle meets 2nd Monday at 7pm in members' homes on a rotating basis.  Both Circles share in meals, devotionals, and service projects.  For instance, the women have just knitted and delivered their 39th Prayer Shawl.  Marie Allison is this year's UMW president.  Call 675-0612 for details.  Sandy Alford is our contact for the Agape Circle (794-8325).

 

Methodist Men

Grace Church is home to some of the finest men, younger and older, in the Cape Fear Region.  Our men enjoy meals together, but are also known for "hands on" ministry outside the church like participation with the Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry (W.A.R.M), Habitat For Humanity, and disaster response work, both local and distant.  These men can be counted on to join into the hard work of the Kingdom.
