GRACE ACTIVITY CENTER

Dedicated on January 16, 2011, the GraceActivityCenter is a welcome addition to our downtown campus located along N. Fourth Street between Grace and Walnut. The driveway off Walnut Street accesses a parking lot and covered drop-off facility.

An atrium-like WelcomeCenter connects the addition to the Sanctuary and Walsh Hall and includes an elevator. The second floor Church Office, including restrooms and a small kitchen, is connected to Walsh Hall via a bridge through the WelcomeCenter.

The ActivityCenter features a junior high-sized basketball court, volleyball court, performance area, storage and laundry facilities, as well as a modern commercial kitchen capable of serving 350-seat church functions. Restrooms, each with a shower, serve the facility. The modern gym flooring and wall padding, as well as retractable goals, make this a versatile area to serve both athletic, youth and church group functions. The entire facility is handicap-accessible.

Halo Hoops

Grace has partnered with Halo Hoops by providing our gym for use by Halo Hoops on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights for practices and on Saturdays for games. The practices and games have already begun and will run until mid February. Halo Hoops rents the facility from us, and there is always a Grace person on site.

Halo Hoops describes itself in this way:

"The mission of Halo Hoops Ministries, Inc. is to encourage and improve youth through basketball. We’re passionate about giving kids a positive experience where they grow as a player and as a person and have a fun time! We do that by providing high quality instruction, surrounding them with positive role models and encouraging them to play on a team with their friends.

At Halo Hoops, our spiritual emphasis is the Christian message. We present this message to young people and their families in a simple and clear manner. Our partnerships with like-minded people, such as churches and community organizations, help provide gym space, staff and service support for the many programs held throughout the year."
