Get Involved at Grace United Methodist Church
There are many opportunities to get involved in groups at Grace United Methodist Church in downtown Wilmington to guide you through your Christian learning.
Here are other opportunities to get involved:
GRACELETTES | Faith Through Fellowship
The word Gracelettes means “doing good little deeds” and we do just that around the church and community, by sending greeting cards, collecting food and supplies for various area ministries, supporting groups within Grace UMC and more.
The Gracelettes are a gathering of young to middle aged women, married and single. This group meets regularly for fellowship every 3rd Thursday of the month. We also have a very active Facebook group to help keep us connected during the week to offer praise reports, prayer requests and share detailed information about social events. Click here if you would like to be added to this closed group.
INNER GRACE | Building Stronger Families
Inner Grace is a Sunday School class and very active fellowship group for our young to middle aged adult members. This group is for both men and women–singles, couples and families. Socially, we meet at least once a month for quality fellowship time, either enjoying a meal or volunteering for a service project.
We have an active Facebook group to help stay connected during the week where we offer praise reports, prayer requests and plan extra activities outside of Sunday School and our monthly gatherings.
SOCIAL GRACES | Small Group Dinners
Social Graces is a casual dinner group composed of 6-8 people, either couples or singles, who enjoy each others company over a meal in a restaurant or in a member’s home. The groups meet for 6 months, twice a year. The groups change members after each 6 month period. There is a joint meeting of all the groups twice a year, and it is at that time the new groups are announced. This is a great way to fellowship with, and get to know, our church family. If you are new to Grace Church, or if you have never joined us, please consider signing up this August. You will not be disappointed!
If you have any questions or comments, please contact the church office.
YOUNG AT HEART | Warm Christian Fellowship
Young at Heart is a social group of church members age 55 and above who meet four times a year. Activities include plays, musicals, art exhibits and travel to historic places. Examples of past activities are trips to Tryon Palace in New Bern, Durham Performing Arts Center in Durham; plays at Thalian Hall and a river cruise on the Cape Fear river.
These outings usually occur in October, December, February and April or May. This group is always looking for new places to visit and explore as they enjoy warm Christian fellowship.
